Shri Sunil Tatkare’s Suggestions on The Indian Medical Council Bill
A very few politicians in Indian scenario are admired for their advance and deep thinking on diverse topics. One of the examples of such mature and brilliant politician includes the knowledgeable leader of the NCP and a Member of Parliament of Raigad Lok Sabha constituency Honourable Mr Sunil Tatkare. Recently, he presented his views on Indian Medical Council Bill in the parliament. During his speech, he presented the facts and drawbacks of the bill and also requested the consent to the Medical College in Raigad district.
Honourable Mr Sunil Tatkare effectively presented his views and suggestions on Indian Medical Council Bill in the parliament. During his speech, he presented different facts, drawbacks, and scope of improvement about Indian Medical Council bill 2017 chapters. He presented a very important point through his speech that this Bill does not include allied branches and other human resources associated with the medical field such as nursing courses and accordingly the bill needs to be reformulated in order to consider this fact.
Mr Sunil Tatkare also recalled the norms defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO). According to the criteria of WHO, there should be a ratio of doctors to people- 1: 1000 but in India, this ratio is 1: 2000. This indicates that there is a lack of skilled professionals in this field. Also, Indian villages face different issues with reference to medical facilities. To be more precise, unavailability of doctors and infrastructure are the major issues faced by Indian villagers.
Shri Sunil Tatkare proposed significant changes in the Indian Medical Council Bill. According to Mr Tatkare, this Bill requires noteworthy changes in order to provide a standard framework to allied branches of the medical field. He also emphasised on the problems raised due to the transfer of doctors, immigration and suggested to implement a strong support system to overcome this problem. Moreover, Mr Sunil Tatkare also talked on the medical admission process which is carried through a medical entrance exam which is prejudiced towards CBSE students. He expected to show a holistic approach in Medical admission process.
While concluding the speech, Mr Tatkare requested the house to sanction the permission for the medical college in Raigad district. He further added that when he was the Finance Minister of the state, he processed the demand of starting a medical college in Raigad district. It became possible due to the guidance and help of Honourable Mr Sharad Pawar. He said that this request should be reconsidered and granted by the centre and there should be a provision of a medical college in Raigad district in the upcoming future.
Mr Sunil Tatkare presented effectively different facts and expectations about the Indian Medical Council Bill. It was obvious that he presented different points on the basis of detailed research and study in this matter. It is expected that his suggestions will be seriously considered while formulating new Indian Medical Council Bill. Mr Sunil Tatkare has just taken a charge as a Member of Parliament and he is showing his calibre by raising different issues, queries and, giving sustainable and strong solutions for them. It clearly indicates that he has a bright future at the centre and he will be able to do justice to the faith shown in him by the people of his constituency.
