During his tenure, he undertook different projects for community center development of the tribal community.

Honorable Mr. Sunil Tatkare also worked for different backward communities in Maharashtra state. He contributed with massive amounts of funds to Nabhik community and promoted the construction of a community center at Kolad and Roha.

Shri Sunil Tatkare always promoted the thought process of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar while following the footsteps of Dr. Ambedkar for the betterment of backward communities. During his tenure, he took different initiatives for the betterment of backward communities. These programs include colony development for the backward communities, community centers for the backward communities, educational facilities such as colleges and hostels to backward students, etc.

Honorable Mr. Sunil Tatkare also contributed for the Koli and Agri communities from Konkan region. These communities typically belong to the Konkan area and their major sources of income are fishing and other businesses. Mr. Sunil Tatkare worked for assuring different facilities to these communities.
